What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)?
Hyaluronic Acid is a called a humectant which means it draws water into the top layer of the skin. Our bodies are 70% water and each of our cells need water to live, thrive and function. HA is hydrating and helps our skin cells receive the moisture they need.
When we are young our bodies produce HA abundantly and easily replace it when lost (you know that beautiful soft feel of an infants skin? HA is in abundance!)
HA provides continuous moisture to the skin by binding up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Smooth, elastic young skin is naturally loaded with HA - our young bodies produce HA abundantly and easily replace what is lost. Unfortunately as we age, the amount of HA that our bodies are able to produce decreases and consequently the amount of HA in our skin drops significantly. In addition the amount of HA in our skin is destroyed by free radicals through exposure to pollutants and sunlight. With less HA in our bodies our skin loses its ability to hold water, leading us to be more prone to dry skin and wrinkles.
What is Argan Oil?
Argan Oil, sometimes referred to as 'liquid gold', is extracted from the nut of fruits from the Argan tree, exclusively found in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in the south western region of Morocco, Africa. Due to its high levels of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids (namely, oleic acid and linoleic acid), Argan Oil is extremely hydrating, helping to moisturise dry, flaky skin. It's not just skin that Argan Oil can help with though. It also assists in helping with the health of your hair and scalp, especially due to it being high in essential fatty acids. Argan Oil is perfect for all skin types and really is nature’s protective, nourishing superfood.
