After navigating her own journey through mental health challenges, endometriosis, and solo motherhood, our founder Jenny Orenstein set out to create something that actually helps on your hardest days - real relief when you need it most.

Meet Jenny - Why This Matters.
At 16, I was battling something invisible - the kind of pain you can’t see, but feel in every part of you. Severe depression, anxiety, and anorexia nervosa became my reality.
I was the youngest patient in an adult psychiatric hospital. The first night was terrifying - unfamiliar walls, unknown faces. So I brought something from home: my pillow and quilt. Small things, but they gave me comfort when nothing else could.
That moment and many others over the next 15 years taught me just how much small comforts can mean when you’re in survival mode.
Through years of recovery, including treatment overseas, and later discovering my neurodivergence, I began to piece together the kind of care I truly needed.
Lunalux was born not from perfection, but from understanding what it means to need real relief when life gets hard.
